FirstHx is pleased to announce that Sarah Hutchison has joined the Board of Directors
Dr Chris O’Connor CEO of FirstHx, today announced the appointment of Sarah Hutchison as a member of the FirstHx Board of Directors. Ms. Hutchison has extensive leadership experience in both private and public organizations with an ability develop and implement innovative solutions to improve patient care.
“Sarah has deep knowledge of Canadian Health care combined with experience in both start-ups and larger organizations. She has a remarkable talent for innovation and developing partnerships” says O’Connor. “Sarah’s expertise in governance and in digital solutions will be a real asset to FirstHx”
Hutchison states: “I am joining FirstHx because I believe that FirstHx can really make a difference in a patient’s experience of their healthcare. Sarah is an experienced health system executive that has a strong track record of driving results-based delivery. She brings to the FirstHx Board her 30 years of expertise in achieving results enabled by strategic partnerships. With an extensive background and knowledge of digital health policy and delivery, she has been effective in ensuring that clinicians, and their patients, are actively represented in system discussions about the evolution of community-based practice delivery in Ontario.
Sarah brings her knowledge of new business development and digital excellence with proven professional skills in both private and non-profit organizations, including start-ups, vendor management, healthcare industry standards, change management and implementation. Sarah has governance experience in both the private and not-for-profit sectors.
Sarah has excellent policy and health systems understanding and most recently has been actively involved in advancing access to virtual care in her work at both the national and provincial level, including her contribution to Canadian Medical Association’s Virtual Care Task Force and Health Canada’s Expert Advisory Committee on Virtual Care.
Sarah received her Masters in Health Administration (MHSc) from the University of Toronto and her Masters in Health Law (LL.M) from Osgoode. She also holds an ICD.D.
